You can always tell when early spring arrives in the north. By May, buds on birch trees swell and begin to sprout. Luckily, Julia gives us a sneak peak of her own fresh, little buds, a gentle reminder that winter soon will lose it's icy grip and the Russian countryside will once again spring to life.
